The Wim Bosman Group has been leading in sustainable logistic solutions for many years. In this context, one has launched the ECO-Service for the road transport division in April of this year. The launch has proven to be successful and meanwhile the ECO-Service is available for all European destinations.
Mainfreight B.V., the Sea- and Air freight division of the Wim Bosman Group, adopted the ECO-Service concept and developed the Consol box, a consolidation service for its Sea Freight customers. TheConsol box service means that cargo is collected from various shippers centrally and then jointly to / from Rotterdam to be shipped. This gives shippers the option of importing or exporting partial loads from these areas in a sustainable and cost effective way.
At first, Consol box will be launched as a consolidation service from China and India to Rotterdam and from Rotterdam to New Zealand.
The ECO-Service combines economical benefit with sustainability. The aim of this concept is to get fully loaded containers but without compromising on transit times and service. As a result of this, customers are assured they pay the best price possible and together we avoid “empty miles”. Therefore, the benefits of the ECO-Service are economical as well as ecological and that offers great opportunities for all parties involved.
At the moment Mainfreight is investigating the possibilities and opportunities to offer ECO-Service for Air freight.
